NEW LAW FOR PROVISIONAL LICENSEES
EFFECTIVE 1/1/2012
For teens driving in excess of 80 mph or 15 miles over the limit, this would lead to arrest and it would be up to the judge's discretion on whether their licenses would be taken away for 30 days. GRADUATED LICENSE LAW CHANGES
Teenager 15-17 years old with a learner's permit (Level One) will need logs to document the hours spent driving.
60 hours of supervised driving, including night driving, to get their limited license (Level Two).
12 more hours of supervised driving will be required to get the full license (Level Three).
Parents or guardians will have to certify the driving logs. The logs will be scanned in and attached to the new driver's record.
DRIVING LOGS:
Teens who already have their limited licenses (Level Two) by January 1, 2012 won't have to complete a log to get their full licenses.
Teens who have their learner's permits (Level One) by Jan. 1, 2012 won't have to submit a Level Two log to get their limited license, but they will have to complete the Level Three log before they can get their full licenses.
